Day Three

Hungry

Lol. I found this picture on Google titled as “Hungry and Angry.” I’m neither hungry nor angry, so it’s not very accurate, but I am feeling thicker around the middle and determined for today to go better. If you’ve read my two previous posts, you’ll know that I succumbed to one very heavy meal each day that pretty much negated the two healthier meals I had. For some numerical cleanliness, I have exactly 8 weeks to go before January 20th and three is my lucky number. 🙂  Continue reading

Day One

Startline Line

Whenever I googled for weight loss stories, it was somewhat informative, albeit a little boring, to read about what they had eaten and how they had exercised that day. What I wanted to read more about was how they had tried and persevered for a bit, only to fall off the tracks repeatedly. I wanted to read about their longing for cupcakes and croissants and all of the other starchy things that provide a mouthfeel that vegetables just cannot imitate. Everyone knows what they SHOULD do and what they SHOULD be eating; we’d like to hear the thought processes and struggles of the people who actually do all that they should. So, here is the start of my first day.

Being Healthy

Hello all!

This post is like many others swimming around on the internet, but everyone likes to read about other people’s struggles, so I’m happy to add more to the mix.

From freshman year to junior year in high school, I effortlessly hovered around 105 pounds. Bagels in the morning with cream cheese? Mine. Someone brought an extra cupcake? All the better. Clubs are selling greasy empanadas on the cheap? My wallet is open. I didn’t think at all about watching what I ate, but I was aware of being disproportionally thin in relation to how much I actually consumed.

In senior year, my weight started sliding up the scale. Month by month, my body expanded, until I topped off at around 128 at graduation. I know 128 doesn’t sound like much, but I barely hit 5’2”, and the extra weight was uncomfortable. The specific numbers are not important, just that I feel/felt, as many others do, dissatisfied and unhappy with my body.
